As ACC Senior High School department officially kicks off its SHS Days 2023 on Thursday, February 23 which takes pride and prestige to the unique culture and traditions of the humble town of Abuyog through its theme;”Exploring the Diversity and Uniqueness of Abuyog culture”.

This year’s four competing factions draws its inspiration to the competitive tribes of the world-class Buyogan Festival namely; Tribu Ligwan Hamo-moong, Lapinig and Buliganay.

To signify the start of the two-day affair a motorcade along the busy streets of Abuyog was held with each team members and advisers flaunting their respective team colors and loudest cheers.

Expressing her delight to the efforts made by the faculty and staff of SHS department for the said event, Vice-president for Academic Affairs, Dr. Edita Vale also highlighted in her opening message that the various academic contests prepared for provides an avenue to build camaraderie and value the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and unity.

” We are all ACCians. The failure and success of the different activities that you’re going to have today and tomorrow will reflect the kind of a student we have. Mapirdi, madaug, aton la geap itun kaupayan,” Vale added.

The morning program covers the following contests namely: Banner Raising, Siday, Folk Song, and Folk Dance. Meanwhile, the academic contests such as quiz bee, word factory, laro ng lahi, sudoku, chess, and scrabble took place in the afternoon

The two-day celebration will continue today, Friday, February 24, with its main event- the coronation day of Buyogan Festival King and Queen and the Awarding and Closing Ceremony.
