“Papunta palang tayo sa exciting part!”- the anticipated climax and the most awaited journey for the Pre-Service Teachers of Abuyog Community College formally commenced on March 2, as they took part in the Orientation Conference for Teaching Interns & Cooperating Schools held at ACC Gymnasium.

In his inspirational talk, College President Dr. Clemelle L. Montallana, reminded the pre-service teachers to hold their ground and do their best to survived of becoming a teacher or a leader in the future.

“Huwag na nating tingnan Ang pagiging guro na isang madali at napaka simpleng propesiyon. Tayo po ang pinakamahirap at pinaka komplikadong propesiyon. Let’s stop presuming the notion that being a teacher is an easy and basic profession . Ours is the most difficult and complex line of work,” Montallana emphasized.

The purpose of the aforementioned orientation is to assist the incoming pre-service teachers by instilling them the necessary knowledge and skills throughout the conference to address primary concerns during their deployment. Distinguished resource speakers were from the Department of Education (DepEd) Leyte Division Office which includes Gerald B. Ranes, Dev. Ed. D., Oliver M. Cadara, Education Program Specialist for ALS, Ciarlyn Faye M. Posion, Teacher ll, and Jose Mariano E. Barril, J.D., Ph.D.

Meanwhile, a demonstration teaching by invited cooperating teachers was conducted in the afternoon session of the program. The orientation was spearheaded by the Pre-Service Teachers officers of 2023 under the supervision of Shiela V.Posas, ACC- SIPP coordinator together with the Dean of College of Arts, Sciences and Education, Dr. Domer P. Regis.

The Pre-Service Teaching Orientation Conference has concluded and as the Pre-Service Teachers began their adventure on their teaching internship, it also welcomes fresh opportunities and experiences in their respective cooperating schools.
