Abuyog Community College (ACC) will soon reach for the star as the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) will provide their e-Library Services called ๐ฆ๐ง๐๐ฅ๐๐ข๐ข๐๐ฆ.

This was made possible thru the dialogue and orientation with Dr. John Glenn D. Ocaรฑa, the Provincial S&T Director of DOST Leyte, and the DOST IT-Expert, Mr. Mhardy C. Montejo, and College President, Dr. Clemelle L. Montallana together with the academic council on Friday, June 30 at the Board Room.
‘STARBOOKS ‘ or the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly-Operated Kiosks is a stand-alone information source designed to reach those with limited or no access to S&T information resources.
The project aims to provide STI (Science, Technology, and Innovation)-based content in various formats to students and other constituents in geographically-isolated and economically-challenged schools and communities throughout the country.
STARBOOKS let users browse thousands of digitized science and technology resources in various formats (text and video/audio) placed in specially design โpodsโ set in a user-friendly interface even without the use of internet.
Through forging this partnership to the academic community will surely help in improving the delivery of quality tertiary education, encourage great and curious minds to innovate and inspire learners to excel in their respective fields of expertise.
Other relevant DOST programs and services were also discussed. The two institutions agreed to hold, at a later date, a workshop to identify potential collaborative projects.
