To review the accomplishments of the institution for the half of the calendar year and to commence with the plans for the subsequent year, the Abuyog Community College administrative and academic council convened at Camp Kawayan Resort Burauaen, Leyte for the three-day Mid-Year Review and Planning Workshop on July 19-21, 2023.

For the first day, a solemn thanksgiving mass led by Rev. Fr. Xandro Magnifico, Parish Vicar of the Immaculate Conception Parish Burauaen, Leyte was conducted and was then followed by an opening program with the topic facilitation on mental health and self-care by invited resource person, Dr. Rhea Lina Saavedra, R.G.C. as well as revisiting curriculum discussion by Vice-president for Academic Affairs, Dr. Edita D. Vale and Dean of College of Information Technology Education, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Sebios.

Moreover, in a groundbreaking move to transform the educational landscape and revitalize the local college, College President, Dr. Clemelle L. Montallana has announced the launch of ACC’s brand plan in a compelling presentation before the attendees.

“ACC is the school of choice in South Central Leyte with its thrusts; Excellence in Curricular Innovation, Excellence in Campus Environment, Faculty Excellence, Excellence in Institutional Governance, Student Excellence, Excellence in Community Engagement and Excellence in Research” Dr. Montallana emphasized.

The brand plan presented by Dr. Montallana outlines a series of strategic initiatives aimed at empowering faculty and students with trailblazing education, fostering innovation and forging stronger ties with local industries.

Dr. Montallana elucidated that it may be an ambitious approach but with the synergistic effort by the academic and administrative leaders it will set to address critical workforce needs and create a thriving learning environment for all.

On the second day, representatives from each office and units presented their action plans for validation and approval of its fund source, budgetary requirements and for inclusion in the calendar of activities.

The consultation on strengthening of planning strategies took over by administrative council members namely; Colllege President, Dr. Clemelle L. Montallana, Executive Vice-president, Dr. Asuncion M. Villote, Vice-president for Administration and Finance, Mrs. Shiela V. Posas and Vice-president for Academic Affairs, Dr. Edita D. Vale.

Adding fervor and fun to the event was the team building games and fellowship activities prepared by the technical working group led by Prof. Jasper V. Dulosa, ACC Planning Officer. Participants actively engaged in the team building games which includes Pinoy Henyo, charades, lemon relay, action songs, and spin the wheel.

Furthermore, the third day was allotted to the orientation of the propose modification of the Office Performance and Commitment Review Form (OPCRF) and Individual Performance and Commitment Review Form (IPCRF) by VP for Admin and Finance, Mrs. Shiela V. Posas as well as the awarding of certificates to the participants.

 As the Mid-Year Review and Planning Workshop comes to its conclusion, participants left with a renewed sense of purpose and determination to make the new school year a resounding success.

In her closing message, Dr. Asuncion M. Villote expressed her gratitude to all participants for their active participation and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting initiatives that empower the workforce and drive the institution forward.

“Our journey at ACC, although it is quite shaky, but still walang iwanan sa ACC.” Dr. Villote ended her speech.

With a solid foundation laid during this workshop, ACC is now better equipped to face challenges and opportunities that lie ahead by fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
