ACC-CASE hosts Education Days; takes pride on teacher-education excellence By Careyl Pedrera
Aimed at highlighting the importance of education and its transformative power in sustaining development in our society, the College of Arts, Sciences and Education (CASE) of Abuyog Community College successfully hosted the opening program of Education Days 2023 on Wednesday, October 4.
Anchored with the theme, ” Unified Teacher-Education Students: Breaking Barriers for Sustainable Development” the opening program made the students, teachers, and staff of CASE came together in a joyous celebration of talents, skills, and passion for learning.
Spearheaded by the League of Teacher Education Students (LOTES) with the guidance of Dr. Domer P. Regis, dean of CASE, and with the active participation of the teacher-education student organizations, namely, Elementary Education Students Association (EESA), English Guild, MathSci, and Social Scire.
Kick-starting the event a lively parade that made its way around the busy streets of Abuyog, laying the groundwork for a packed schedule of events.
Shortly after the parade, a thanksgiving mass presided by St. Francis Xavier Parish priest, Rev. Fr. Noel Abrenio was held as a way of celebrating the accomplishments of the teacher -education program and a manifestation of the unified spirit of the academic community towards sustainable development.
As the days of the event continues, Dean of CASE, Dr. Domer Regis in his welcome remarks emphasized the role of education in shaping a brighter future he also encouraged everyone to actively participate in the activities for Education Days.
“As we celebrate Teacher-Education Days 2023, let us remember that every lesson taught, every question answered and every challenge overcome in the classroom shapes not only mind but destiny.”, Dr. Regis said.
Moreover, serving as a keynote speaker was CHEDRO VIII Supervising Education Program Specialist, Dr. Leo D. Camposano, centered his speech on the significance of the acronyms LDC which stands for Leading change, Driving execution, Creating impact.
“Abuyog Community College, plays a role in achieving these goals through Action, Competence, and Commitment” Dr. Camposano quoted.
Meanwhile, leaving the audience and visitors in awe was the Unity dance presentation of selected LOTES officers and members under the scorching heat of the sun.
One of the highlights of Education Days was the LOTES Exhibit where classrooms were transformed into interactive learning spaces, with teacher-education students engaged students in thought-provoking discussions about the value of education, its impact on personal growth, and its role in addressing global challenges.
The school’s Education Days celebration concluded its Day 1 taking pride on the strife for academic excellence of the teacher-education program. It was also a reminder that education goes beyond textbooks and classrooms—it also nurtures creativity and the transformative potential in molding the future.
