Celebrating Excellence: A Night of Achievement at 1st Gawad Lampara Awards Ceremony

As part of this year’s celebration of Abuyog Community College’s (ACC) 44th Founding Anniversary, institution’s staff, faculty members, distinguished guests, alumni gathered on October 28, 2023, at Abuyog Municipal Gymnasium for the 1st Gawad Lampara Awards Night.

Bearing the theme, ” Kagitingan, Katapatan, at Kagalingan sa paglilingkod: TANGLAW ng pag-asa para sa Kabataan at Bayan”, is a cherished initiative of ACC Academic Council and Gawad Lampara Committee that is dedicated to recognizing the outstanding accomplishments and hard work of the administrative and academic members and staff.

In his social media, College President, Dr. Clemelle L. Montallana emphasized that the inspiration behind the awards night was attributed to the qualities of “The Lamp” which are illumination, quality, loyalty, and service.

” In celebration of the ACCians who best exhibit these qualities, courage, and accomplishments, we will present the Gawad Lampara with joy and gratitude.” Montallana penned in his post.

The event, held in the municipal gymnasium, was a glittering affair, with faculty and alumni eager to receive recognition for their achievements. From loyalty, service, innovation and creativity to community service, the awards spanned various categories to honor well-rounded faculty and alumni who contribute to the college’s vibrant community.

The evening commenced with the processional of honored guests, awardees and ACC academic council led by College President, Dr. Clemelle L. Montallana and keynote speaker, former college president Asec. Luz Yringco and in representation to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Lemuel Gin K. Traya was SB member and committee chair on education, Hon. Fransisco Landia.

The recipients of each award category were greeted with thunderous applause and heartfelt congratulations as they took the stage to accept their awards. They shared their journeys, experiences, and the inspiration that drove them to excel in their respective roles.

The 1st Gawad Lampara Awards Night was not only a celebration of individual achievements but also a reminder of the collective commitment to fostering a culture of excellence within the local college. It served as an inspiration for the next generation of educators, innovators, and mentors, reinforcing the idea that dedication and hard work can lead to remarkable accomplishments.

As the night came to a close, it was clear that this year’s Founding Anniversary had set a high standard for future celebrations, one that would continue to spotlight and honor the remarkable faculty members who contribute to the growth and success of Abuyog Community College.

In the words of the college president, Dr Clemelle L. Montallana was proud of its exceptional faculty, and this event marks the beginning of a tradition that will shine a perpetual light on their incredible contributions to our institution and the academic world.
