𝗗𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀: 𝗔𝗖𝗖 𝗶𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝗠𝗢𝗔 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗗𝗔

In a groundbreaking move, the Abuyog Community College (ACC) and the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) have joined forces to forge a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing the skills and capabilities of trainers involved in cooperative development initiatives.

The alliance, which was formalized during a symbolic Memorandum of Agreement signing ceremony held in Abuyog Hotel, on March 27, 2024.

This marked a significant milestone in the local college in establishing a sustainable cooperative. Under the terms of the agreement, the ACC and CDA will collaborate on a wide range of initiatives that will empower communities through education, training, and cooperative development.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Municipal Mayor of Abuyog, Hon. Lemuel Gin K. Traya hailed the partnership as a testament to the shared vision and aspirations of ACC and CDA. He emphasized the importance of leveraging the cooperative development in the locality to unlock new opportunities for sustainable development and prosperity.

Likewise, the CDA Board of Director, Asec. Luz H. Yringco, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, emphasizing the potential for mutual benefit and shared prosperity.

“To hold hands to really develop and prosper. To work together and to do service. Cooperatives helps to uplift the marginalized.”Asec. Yringco stated.

The signatories of the agreement were CDA Region 8 director, Dir. Venus M. Jornales, College President, Dr. Clemelle L. Montallana, and Executive Vice-president, Dr. Asuncion M. Villote.

Also in attendance to witness the signing ceremony were representatives from Cooperative Development Authority namely: CDA Board of Director, Asec. Luz H. Yringco, BOD and CDA Chairman, Usec. Joseph Joy Encabo, Sr. CDS, CDA R8, Jordan Madjus, and the CDA Attorney III, Atty. Jasper M. Carias.

Meanwhile, representatives from ACC were Planning Officer-Designate, Jasper Dulosa, Dean, College of Hospitality Management and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Nestor Sedanza, along with Vice-president for Administration and Finance, Sheila V. Posas, VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Edita D. Vale,the deans of the different colleges, and select faculty members.

Overall, the joint initiatives between CDA and ACC promises to spur innovation in cooperative governance, management, and entrepreneurship, driving positive change in the local economy.
