COHME Days 2024 Celebrates 18 years of Success in Entrepreneurship and Hospitality Management Education

On July 4, 2024, the College of Hospitality Management and Entrepreneurship (COHME) hosted the vibrant celebration of their 18 years of success and excellence in entrepreneurship and hospitality management education.

Bearing with the theme, “Transformative and Resilient Entrepreneurship and Hospitality Management Education” the first day of the event showcased BSHM and BSEntrepreneurship talents and teamwork through various fun and exciting academic contests.

The event kicked off with a motorcade and was then followed by a eucharistic celebration presided by St. Francis Xavier Parish priest Rev. Fr. Noel Abrenio that infused positivity and renewed commitment of the college.

The affair was graced by the College President, Dr. Clemelle L. Montallana and the full support of the COHME faculty through the stewardship of their Dean, Dr. Nestor S. Sedanza.

In his welcome remarks, COHME Dean, Dr. Nestor Sedanza stipulated that this year’s COHME Days is a significant milestone for Abuyog Community College. He also narrated the timeline of dedication, growth, and educational excellence of their beloved COHME.

Another spectacle during the opening program was the spirited contest of banner raising where representatives from the three competing factions namely, Tycoons, Stockholders, and CEOs.

Shortly after it was followed by the symbolic act of lighting the Skills Olympics torch, which was orchestrated by the College President, Dr. Clemelle L. Montallana with the assistance of the COHME program heads, Mr. John Paul C. Tupas, and Mr. Allen Glen Matanda as well as their college dean, Dr. Nestor Sedanza.

Moreover, the ceremonial ribbon-cutting of their Food Bazaar marked the official opening of the event. The food bazaar curated by offered a diverse range of culinary delights.

Excitement filled the air as participants engaged in various contests which includes the spirited Zumba competition, and exciting parlor games.

The event continues with the afternoon line-up of activities such as Maria Went to Town, Garter Relay, Straw Relay, Charades, Amazing race, and Poster Making, adding a touch of competitiveness and creativity to the celebrations.

The festivities also highlight the achievement of COHME with its launching of Abuyog Community College Association of Student Services (ACCASS), a cohort of competent and passionate tour guides who will engage with diverse audiences to enhance the overall visitor experience in the local college.

As the day fades, the COHME Days holds a strong emphasis on innovation and excellence. COHME continues to uphold its mission of fostering a learning environment that prepares students for successful careers in hospitality and entrepreneurship.
