ACC leaders Inks MOA with DSWD to Enhance Regional Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP)

On Friday, July 5, 2024- In a significant move to bolster economic opportunities and sustainable livelihoods in the region, the leaders of Abuyog Community College (ACC) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) held at the Regional Operations Center, DSWD Office VIII, Government Center, Candahug, Palo, Leyte.

The affair was graced by Local chief executive, Hon. Lemuel Gin K. Traya, together with Municipal Administrator, Mrs. Luz Concha K. Daganzo, Municipal Social Welfare Officer, together with College President, Dr. Clemelle L. Montallana, Executive Vice-president, Dr. Asuncion M. Villote, and Community Extension and Services Office coordinator, Prof. Irene Belleza.

This strategic partnership aims to enhance the implementation of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), which focuses on providing support and resources to marginalized communities in Abuyog Leyte. The collaboration between ACC and DSWD is expected to bring substantial benefits to local communities, particularly those involved in agricultural and cooperative activities.

During the signing ceremony, the College President, Dr. Montallana emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving sustainable development goals. “We are all Patritiotic Filipinos but if I may ask?What is the 3rd to the last line of the Lupang Hinirang?It actually says… Buhay ay langit sa piling mo.The plans, efforts of the DSWD, and all other stakeholders here aimed on creating heaven on Earth or perhaps close to it…In our little way, with this connection we surely can.” Dr. Montallana stated.
