Seminar Series in Modern Physics Enlightens Educators at Abuyog Community College

Abuyog, Leyte – The Seminar Series in Modern Physics held at the Business Incubation Facility (BIF) of Abuyog Community College concluded successfully, leaving a lasting impact on third-year Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Science students.

Spanning two insightful days from July 16-17, 2024, the event brought together a diverse array of speakers and participants eager to delve into the depths of contemporary physics.

The inaugural day commenced with a solemn prayer, followed by the singing of the National anthem and ACC hymn, fostering a spirit of unity and reverence among attendees. Ma. Cristita E. Matchino, the class instructor, warmly welcomed the participants and set the stage for an intellectually stimulating experience.

Dr. Domer P. Regis, Dean of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education, delivered an inspirational message emphasizing the importance of honesty in education, setting a moral compass for the aspiring educators. The day progressed with the introduction of esteemed resource speakers, including Reana Lynn Ruiz, Rolando Atienza, and Nyca Globa, who shared their expertise on various facets of modern physics.

Following a productive seminar session and engaging workshops designed to deepen understanding, students actively participated in an open forum, posing thoughtful questions and receiving expert insights. The day concluded with Mrs. Matchino’s closing remarks, reflecting on the day’s accomplishments and setting expectations high for Day 2.

The second day of the seminar series saw a new lineup of distinguished speakers taking the stage. Angelo Argate, Edie Ann Costorio, Cleo Gloria, and Meralene Sorima captivated the audience with their discussions on advanced topics in physics, further enriching the participants’ knowledge base.

Following the enlightening presentations, attendees eagerly participated in workshops tailored to reinforce their grasp of the latest concepts discussed. The practical exercises provided an opportunity for hands-on learning and application of theoretical knowledge.

A highlight of the event was the ceremonial awarding of certificates to both speakers and participants, recognizing their dedication and contribution to the seminar’s success. Mrs. Matchino and Dr. Regis proudly presented the awards, acknowledging the hard work and enthusiasm of all involved.

The day culminated in a vibrant social gathering, where participants, speakers, and organizers mingled, fostering camaraderie and networking opportunities. Mrs. Matchino delivered heartfelt closing remarks, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the seminar’s achievements and encouraging continued exploration in the field of modern physics.
