by Rogie Beringuel

The Philippine National Bank (PNB) is conducting a local marketing initiative at Abuyog Community College (ACC), offering students and instructors the opportunity to open bank accounts with no initial deposit and no maintaining balance.

This effort aims to reach unbanked areas and encourage individuals to gain access to the banking system.

In an interview, Mr. Miety Abras, Head of Tacloban Justice Bank, emphasized the benefit of the offer. “This is a privilege for students to open a savings account with a debit ATM card without the usual requirement of a PHP 3,000 initial deposit or maintaining balance,” he stated.

The offer includes an ATM savings debit card bundled with a prepaid card, which can be used for online transactions.

Those interested in availing of the promotion can visit the PNB team located at MIS office of ACC until Thursday. Applicants need to present a valid ID and pay PHP 171 to cover the cost of the debit Mastercard and prepaid card.
