December 13, 2024- The holiday spirit came alive as Teacher-Education students under the Foundation for Special and Inclusive Education (Prof. Ed 3) organized a heartwarming Christmas gift-giving activity for select SPED (Special Education) students of Gabaldon Central School.

Held at the ACC Evacuation Gym, the event was a testament to the students’ dedication to inclusivity and compassion. Anchored on the theme, ‘Sparkles of Hope: Celebrating Every Heart, and the Gifts of Joy and Wonder.’

The event was organized and planned by Prof. Julie Ann Guno, with the attendance of SPED teachers of Gabaldon Central School namely, Mr. Jackson Aรฑover, Ms. Mary Joy Abrantes, and Ms. Mary Joy Alicer, who brought their expertise and passion to the event.

The culmination day was filled with excitement and joy as the SPED students received thoughtful gifts, marking not just the celebration of Christmas but also the celebration of their unique abilities and potential. It was a day where everyone involved saw firsthand how acts of kindness can truly make a difference in the lives of others.

As the event comes to its fruition, it also embodied the true essence of the holiday season that goes beyond the exchange of gifts. It’s about bringing smiles to others, making them feel valued, and fostering a community where everyone is included.

This Christmas gift-giving activity has allowed ACCians to not only give back but also learn about empathy, respect, and the power of connection.

The culmination day not only marked the success of the event but also highlighted the importance of integrating inclusive practices into education. Indeed, it was a celebration of both the season and the strength found in unity and understanding.
