ACC Honors 374 Graduates in Second Cluster of 42nd Commencement Exercises by Princess Faith Grospe

A new chapter begins for the 374 graduates of Abuyog Community College as the institution held its Second Cluster of the 42nd Commencement Exercises, honoring the graduates of Bachelor of Science in Criminology (BSCRIM) and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) on July 31, at Abuyog Mini-gym.

The ceremony began with a dignified processional march led by the ACC AFROTC Marshalls — a powerful symbol of honor, courage, and the responsibility that comes with success.

After the national anthem and a solemn invocation led by BSCrim Cum Laude, Roldan Pakiding Jr. meanehile, Ms. Jessa Mae Ripalda, BS Crim, Cum Laude, delivered a heartfelt welcome, reminding the graduates that beyond academic success lies a deeper story of personal growth, resilience, and triumph.

A video message from CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis extended her warmest congratulations, followed by the inspiring Commencement Address of Dr. Raymundo P. Arcega, President of the Association of Local Colleges and Universities (ALCU) and Executive Director of ALCUCOA. In his words,

“Hold fast to your identity. Let your roots be your anchor, your compass, and your strength.”

Applause filled the venue as diplomas were handed out and Latin Honor graduates — Cum Laude and Magna Cum Laude — were recognized for their dedication and excellence.

The highlight of the day came with the Valedictory Address of Shane R. Pagayanan, the first Magna Cum Laude from the College of Information Technology, who moved the audience with these words:

“Let us not only chase success but become a source of it for others. Together, Batch Abyanon, we will LIGHT UP the darkness.”

Graduates were formally inducted into the ACC Alumni Association, led by Ms. Ella Krista Traya, and took their Pledge of Loyalty to their alma mater with Cherrylyn B. Enriquez, BSIT Cum Laude, leading the affirmation.

A heartfelt message from the Executive Chair, Hon. Lemuel Gin K. Traya encouraged graduates to lead with excellence, competence and true service— the core values of Abuyog Community College.

As the curtains drew to a close, the room was filled with emotion during the tribute song, “Awit ng Anak sa Magulang,” paying homage to every parent’s sacrifice. Finally, with voices united in the graduation anthem, “Light Up,” the Class of 2025 marched onward, carrying hope, pride, and shared dreams into the world.
