44 Years of Excellence: ACC Celebrates Foundation Day

Abuyog Community College, October 26, 2023- It was a day of joy, nostalgia, and pride as Abuyog Community College celebrated its 44th Foundation Day on October 26. The school, which has been a pillar of education and character development for over four decades, marked this special occasion with a grand opening celebration that brought together students, alumni, staff, and the local community.
Emblazing on the theme, ” Our Foundation, Our Future: Building a Resilient Alumni”, the festivities began early in the morning with a motorcade parade that traversed the busy streets of the town echoing the school’s commitment to nurturing service-oriented citizens.
Shortly after, in a solemn thanksgiving mass, Rev. Fr. Noel Abrenio, mass presider addressed the assembly, reflecting on the institution’s journey from its humble beginnings to its current stature as a renowned educational hub.
Meanwhile, in his welcome speech Dr. Clemelle Montallana, college president emphasized the resiliency of the local college which have played a multifaceted role in navigating the changing landscape while also serving their communities by addressing workforce needs.
“As we celebrate today our founding anniversary, the last word on our theme- it’s about resilience. Diri nagpapirdi, hindi magpapatalo, magpapatuloy at higit sa lahat makakamit natin ang ating mga minimithi”, Dr. Montallana said.
One of the highlights of the day was the College of Criminal Justice Education’s (CCJE) field demonstrations on Arnis and Civil Disturbance Management, which demonstrated the capability, efficiency and readiness of the future police force in maintaining peace and order during arrests and mass demonstrations.
Moreover, deafening cheers and screams resonated the venue as the five pairs of dazzling and exquisite candidates strike their best pose as they vie for this year’s most coveted title as Mr. and Ms. ACC 2023 during their short presentation and introduction.
As the vibrant event prospers, the ceremonial ribbon cutting of the Food Expo Bazaar which was presented by the College of Hospitality Management and Entrepreneurship (COHME) and the Garage sale initiated by the College of Arts, Sciences and Education (CASE) was graced by ACC-Board of Trustees member, Mrs. Diosdada Verra, joining her was College President, Dr. Clemelle L. Montallana and VP for Administration and Finance, Mrs. Shiela V. Posas. Their stalls feature a variety of products including home-cooked dishes, street foods, coffee, tea and clothing items.
The first day of the celebration concluded with a grand feast of dancing prowess as each competing college cheer for their representatives in the TikTok Dance Challenge.
As Abuyog Community College celebrates its 44th Foundation Day, it stands as a testament to the unwavering dedication of its founders, teachers, and students. The legacy of excellence, character, and community-building continues to thrive, and the institution remains a beacon of education in the municipality.
