Leaving an indelible mark on the school’s commitment to holistic education, the sophomores’ class of 2023-2024 vied for victory in the Physical Education Culmination: Dance Palabas on Wednesday, January 31.
Under the advisory of ACC Socio-cultural coordinator, Ms. Julie Silvano, the event highlighted diverse performances in Folk Dance, Ballroom Dance, and Modern Dance from the BEED, BSED English, Mathematics and Science, Social Science, BS Information Technology, BS Hospitality Management, and BS Entrepreneurship.
In an interview, Ms. Silvano expressed pride in the students’ achievements, emphasizing the significance of physical education in the overall development of individuals.
“The primary objective of this event is to showcase the talents of ACCians, specifically under my subject, which focuses on Dance Activities. We explore different categories and areas of dance, including Folk Dance, Ballroom Dance, and Modern Dance,” Silvano stressed.
Mr. Casey Altejar, ACC Dance Troupe alumni and one of the judges during the event, highlighted the significance of dancing and its positive impact on youth.
“For me, firstly, as a dancer, I think one advantage of conducting this activity is for people to know, also to realize or to experience that dancing is not just body movement, but it is also tradition. It is culture. It unites diversity. They can grow or develop their talents and those talents would provide them skills in life, and those skills could help them be successful and happy,” Altejar expressed.
