Connections Unleashed: ACC Celebrates Convergence 2024

In an avenue to celebrate oneness and build connections, high-spirited ACCians gathered at the ACC grounds to celebrate the ACC Convergence 2024 on Thursday, September 25.

In attendance during the event were ACC Executive Chairman and Abuyog Municipal Mayor, Hon. Lemuel Gin K. Traya, College President, Dr. Clemelle L. Montallana, faculty staff, and students.

ACCians spirit was reignited as student coming from the College of Art, Sciences, and Education (CASE), College of Hospitality Management and Entrepreneurship (COHME), College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), Department of Information Technology Education(DITE), and the Senior High School flocked the ACC quadrangle.

The event officially kicked strated with the eucharistic celebration officiated by St. Francis Xavier Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Noel Abrenio.

Another significant sight of the day was the induction of the various academic organization officers, that was inducted by Hon. Mayor Lemuel Gin K. Traya.

The oath of office does not only portray the new breed officers formal installment in their respective positions, but a significant symbol of their sincere commitment to serve the students with equity and nourish a transparent administration and governance in which each individual inside the campus is valued and acknowledged with inclusiveness.

Moreover, in his inspirational message, Hon. Lemuel Gin K. Traya, emphasized the importance of having organizations as the key leaders to bring the students together.

“Damo man ngay-an it organization dinhi sa ACC, the more organization, the more nga magkaurusa it eskwelahan,” Hon. Traya noted.

Hon. Traya also asserted that his office is willing to extend its utmost support to the different organizations.

“Kun ano man it mabulig sit opisina ni Mayor san iyo tagsa-tagsa nga organization, ay kamo pag-alang pagdaop sa akon,” Hon. Traya added.

Meanwhile, Dr. Clemelle L. Montallana, delivered a striking keynote speech, where he emphasized that the convergence party is a celebration for a more profound reason.

“We are not here to celebrate our achievement but we are celebrating the brighter future that is ahead of us” Dr. Montallana said.

It is remembered that the school achieved its recent milestone: the ACC’s reinclusion of the free higher education program. The program opens a door of hope for the educational landscape of ACCians. It’s not only a relief that outweighs students’ financial burden, but an assurance of the success of their academic journey—the idea that is worthwhile to celebrate about.

Furthermore, talented ACCians shines at the ACC grounds as each representative from every department showcased their musical prowess and dancing skills, in a solo and duet singing contest, and mass dance contest.

Additionally, the students revealed their playful and competitive side during the parlor games. All students were able to enjoy and connect with other departments despite the friendly competition.

This year’s convergence party ignited the spirits of ACCians despite the academic pressure and financial constraints. In an interview, Ms. Ma. Jessa Regis, emphasized that this kind event is a needed celebration to enjoy and build new relationships.

“This event, I think, is important to get to know other people..we are not just making fun but we also build unexpected friendships. I think we also showed our fun side,” Ms. Regis expressed.

Indeed, this event is a worthwhile experience to connect and make unforgettable memories while setting aside academic problems and personal worries.

The ACC Convergence Party 2024 ended up triumphant. The event is a testament to the ACCians fostering rapport with each other and an initial step for a more inclusive environment inside the campus.
