Thursday, January 16, 2025- The first-ever Pinning Ceremony of the Pre-Service Teachers from the College of Arts Sciences and Education (CASE) marked a monumental milestone for Abuyog Community College (ACC). The air was filled with excitement and pride as 271 pre-service teachers of ACC, its faculty, and the proud parents gathered at Abuyog Mini-gym to witness this memorable event.

The ceremony commenced with a solemn Eucharistic celebration presided by Rev. Fr. James Sean Sital and was then followed by the processional march of the pre-service teachers accompanied by their parents.

Shortly after, Dr. Domer Regis, dean of the College of Arts Sciences and Education delivered a heartfelt opening remarks, expressing pride in the achievements of the students and highlighting the significance of the pinning ceremony in their journey to becoming educators.

Although the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Lemuel Gin K. Traya was unable to attend, his inspirational message was delivered with heartfelt conviction by the College President, Dr. Clemelle L. Montallana. The address emphasized the dedication and commitment required in the teaching profession and encouraged the pre-service teachers to embrace their journey with passion and purpose.

The highlight of the event was the symbolic pinning, dressed in their pristine uniforms, the pre-service teachers walked gracefully to the stage alongside their proud parents who adorned them with pins, signifying their readiness to take on the mantle of educators.

The candle-lighting ceremony led by CHED RO Director, Dr. Maximo C. Aljibe followed, casting a warm glow that illuminated not just the venue, but the hearts of everyone present. Each flame symbolized the light these aspiring educators aim to bring to their future classrooms, communities, and students.

English Pre-service teacher Edgele Valida shared, “This moment is not just about receiving a pin; itโ€™s about embracing the responsibility and privilege of shaping young minds. Itโ€™s a dream come true.”

Moreover, Dennis Echavez, President of the Pre-service Teacher Organization delivered the pledge of commitment to excellence, where pre-service teachers solemnly vowed to uphold the values of integrity, excellence, and compassion.

Adding spectacle to the event, were intermission numbers which included a moving song number by Ms. Chescka Q. Caliao, an English pre-service teacher and select students in their lively folk dance rendition.

The highlight of the ceremony was the keynote address delivered by CHEDRO 8 Director, Dr. Maximo C. Aljibe, whose stirring message resonated deeply with the audience.

Focusing on the themes of caring, respect, and integrity, Dr. Aljibe highlighted the crucial role of these values in the teaching profession and urged pre-service teachers to embody them in their interactions with students.

Adding to the meaningful celebration, the event featured a heartfelt song performance of Bruno Mars’ ‘Today my Life Begins’ by the pre-service teachers.

The program culminated in an inspiring closing message from the Vice President of Administration and Finance, Prof. Sheila V. Posas emphasized the crucial role of educators in nation building.

Through this event, ACC not only celebrated its pre-service teachers but also reignited its unwavering support for the future of education. Truly, this is only the beginning of greater things to come.
