BSIT Alumni, Imasen Philippine Manufacturing Corporation Donate Firewall to Abuyog Community College

Abuyog Community College (ACC) has taken another step forward in equipping its students with the necessary tools for learning and growth. Through the generosity of Imasen Philippine Manufacturing Corporation and the initiative of one of ACC’s esteemed alumni, Eugine Cantuba Castro, the institution has received a firewall device.

Castro, a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) from ACC, facilitated the donation as part of his commitment to giving back to his alma mater. The donated firewall, will serve as a crucial tool for students to explore and strengthen their technical skills.

“In the spirit of learning and growth, we donate this firewall device to Abuyog Community College for training purposes. Though no longer in active service, may it serve as a valuable tool for students to explore and enhance their skills in network security. Knowledge is the true firewall that protects the future,” Imasen Philippine Manufacturing Corporation said in the note.

The donation marks a significant milestone for ACC’s IT department, as it enables students to engage in practical exercises related to cybersecurity, network management, and ethical hacking. With evolving technological advancements and increasing cyber threats, this contribution will help bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world application.

College President, Clemelle L. Montallana, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the generous support. “We are immensely grateful to Eugine Cantuba Castro and Imasen Philippine Manufacturing Corporation for their commitment to education and technological advancement. This firewall donation is more than just a device—it is an investment in the future of our students, empowering them with the skills and knowledge needed in the digital age.”

Faculty members of the BSIT program also shared their appreciation, noting how the firewall will be integrated into practical coursework, allowing students to gain hands-on experience in configuring and managing network security systems.

This initiative not only strengthens the college’s IT curriculum but also underscores the importance of alumni contributions in shaping the future of education. As ACC continues to evolve as a hub of learning and innovation, partnerships like these play a crucial role in ensuring that students are well-equipped for the challenges of the modern world.

Indeed, as Imasen Philippine Manufacturing Corporation eloquently stated, “Knowledge is the true firewall that protects the future.” Through this meaningful donation, ACC students are now better prepared to defend and navigate the ever-changing landscape of cybersecurity.
