ACC BSIT Students Pass 2025 PhilNITS IT Passport Examination
by John Fritz Cabalhin

Nine Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students from Abuyog Community College (ACC) passed the Information Technology Passport (IP) Certification Exam under the Philippine National IT Standards (PhilNITS), held on April 27 at ACC Computer Laboratory.
Out of 16 examinees from ACC, nine of them earned their IP Certification, which is part of the certification framework aligned with the Japan IT Engineers Examination (JITEE). The IP exam evaluates foundational competencies in information technology, including digital literacy, cybersecurity, system development, and business processes.

To support exam readiness, the College of Information Technology Education (CITE) conducted review classes, mock tests, and mentoring sessions prior to the examination. These initiatives were implemented to help students meet the standards of the international certification.
According to the College, this outcome contributes to its goal of promoting globally recognized qualifications among its students as part of their professional development.
The next schedule for the Information Technology Passport (IP) Certification Exam, along with the Fundamental Information Technology Engineers (FE) Certification Exam, is on October 26, 2025 (Sunday). The Applied Information Technology Engineers (AP) Certification Exam will be held on October 25, 2025 (Saturday). The 2025 AP exam will be the last one conducted in English; starting in 2026, the AP exam will be available only in Japan and administered in Nihonggo.
