ACC to Host 1st ALCU EV Friendship Games 2025

Abuyog Community College (ACC) is set to make history as it proudly hosts the 1st Local Colleges and Universities (LCU) Region VIII Friendship Games 2025 on June 26–28, 2025, bringing together students, athletes, and cultural performers from across local colleges in Eastern Visayas.

With the theme “Bringing Local Colleges Together in the Spirit of Friendship Through Culture and Sports: One ALCU8, One Eastern Visayas,” the event promises not just friendly competition but a celebration of shared identity and regional pride.

A milestone for the Association of Local Colleges and Universities (ALCU) Eastern Visayas, the Friendship Games will feature spirited athletic competitions and vibrant cultural presentations that highlight each participating institution’s unique talents.

Student-athletes, performers, and delegates from Abuyog Community College, Burauen Community College, City College of Ormoc, Catbalogan City Community College, and Colegio De Las Navas will come together—not just to compete—but to connect, share, and build a community rooted in unity and excellence.

For ACC, hosting the inaugural event is more than an honor—it’s a responsibility to inspire and uplift the region through collaboration and sportsmanship. Said three-day celebration of athletic excellence and regional solidarity will feature high-energy competitions in Men’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Volleyball, Men’s Sepak Takraw, Chess for both men and women, and a thrilling Futsal Exhibition Game.

“This event is not just a showcase of athletic talent or cultural creativity—it’s a celebration of what we can achieve when we come together as one region, one family,” said Dr. Clemelle L. Montallana, President of Abuyog Community College. “We are proud to be the first host and to set the tone for a legacy built on friendship and unity.”
