𝗔𝗖𝗖 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗜𝗟𝗚 𝗥𝟴 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝘇 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝘉𝘺 𝘑𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘺𝘯 𝘌𝘮𝘢𝘯

Abuyog Community College (ACC) proudly takes home the First Place in the PAISAN-ISAN 2025: DILG 8 Local Governance Quiz, held today, October 10, 2025, at the Department of Local Government (DILG) Regional Training Center, Tacloban City — a fitting celebration of the 34th Anniversary of the Local Government Code of 1991.

Representing the brilliance and excellence of ACC were Teacher-Education students, Mr. Gian Carlo Codera, Ms. Tresha Bien De Paz, and Mr. Dhann Jyke Mantilla, with the guidance and support of Dr. Domer P. Regis, Dean of the College of Arts, Sciences and Education (CASE) together with CASE faculty member, Prof. John Paul Adtoon.

Competing among prestigious higher education institutions across Region 8 namely, City College of Ormoc, Western Leyte College, The College of Maasin, University of the Philippines Tacloban, Burauen Community College and Eastern Visayas State University, the ACC team showcased not only their mastery of local governance but also their unwavering teamwork and analytical thinking.

In celebration of the 34th Anniversary of the Local Government Code of 1991, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 8 launched this year’s theme of empowerment and knowledge through the PAISAN-ISAN quiz competition — a platform that challenges the youth to engage with the principles of local governance and participatory democracy.
