ACC Entrepreneurship studes embrace innovation at 14th International Business Summit

Abuyog Community College once again marked a milestone for global-minded education as four BS Entrepreneurship students proudly represented the College of Hospitality Management and Entrepreneurship (COHME) at the 14th International Business Summit, held on November 20–21, 2025, at the People’s Center and Library, Tacloban City.
Guided by the steadfast leadership of Dean Teofilo Montallana and Prof. Allen Glen Matanda, student delegates Lowell T. Fernando, Roxanne R. Corpuz, Gwen Corsiga, and Joliena L. Labajo joined hundreds of participants as they stepped into the theme, “Future Forward: Navigating the New Era of Business, Innovation, and Sustainability.
From the very first session, the summit radiated the pulse of a world moving fast toward smarter, greener, and more interconnected business systems. The opening ceremonies, led by Eastern Visayas State University, brought together students and faculty from state universities, private colleges, and community colleges across Eastern Visayas namely; EVSU Main Campus, EVSU Burauen Campus, EVSU Carigara Campus, EVSU Tanauan Campus, Abuyog Community College, Asian Development Foundation College, Biliran Province State University, Burauen Community College, Colegio de las Navas, ESSU Borongan Campus, ESSU Can-Avid Campus, ESSU Guiuan Campus, ESSU Salcedo Campus, Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception, Palompon Institute of Technology, Northwest Samar State University, SLSU Main Campus, St. Michael College of Hindang, Leyte Inc., Western Leyte College, and Northern Samar Colleges Inc.
Representing EVSU were distinguished officials: Dr. Danilo B. Pulma, VP for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services, Dr. Analyn C. Españo, VP for Student Development, Internationalization & External Affairs, Dr. Benedicto T. Militante, Jr., VP for Academic Affairs
Joining them was CHED Regional Director Dr. Maximo Aljibe, whose keynote address emphasized preparing Filipino learners for the demands of a rapidly shifting global economy. Leyte Governor, Hon. Jericho “Icot” Petilla also conveyed support through Board Member Kathryn Veloso-Kabigting.
The two-day international event exposed ACC’s young entrepreneurs to emerging global business trends— from sustainable business models to innovative economic strategies.
Throughout the summit, they engaged with industry frontrunners, listened to expert discussions, and gained invaluable insights on how innovation shapes both local and global marketplaces.
In a world that continues to shift, ACC’s participation in the 14th International Business Summit stands as a powerful testament: the future belongs to those willing to step forward, engage, and lead.
