On December 12, 2025, at 9:00 AM, Abuyog Community College (ACC) Teacher-Education students under the course Foundation for Special and Inclusive Education conducted a gift-giving activity and Christmas celebration for learners with special needs at Gabaldon Central School.
The initiative, organized by course instructor Prof. Julie Guno carried out in close collaboration with Gabaldon SPED teachers, gathered SPED learners, parents, educators, and school officials, including District Supervisor Mr. Ernesto Mayol.
The event opened with a short program featuring an invocation, the Philippine National Anthem, and welcoming remarks from both ACC representatives and host school faculty.
In his message, Mr. Mayol emphasized the importance of creating learning spaces where all children feel valued and supported, noting that fostering this environment is essential to strengthening inclusive education in local communities.
The celebration aimed to help future teachers better understand the needs of diverse learners while reinforcing compassion, responsiveness, and inclusivity.

A series of performances added energy to the program, such as the lively folk dance, receiving applause from the audience and demonstrating how artistic activities empower them to express themselves confidently.
Despite the heavy rain that persisted outside, the atmosphere inside the venue remained festive and engaging.
The highlight of the event was the distribution of Christmas gifts, prepared by ACC Teacher-Education students.
Learners lined up cheerfully as volunteers handed out wrapped presents containing school supplies, treats, and simple holiday tokens. Teachers noted that the gesture, though modest, had a meaningful impactโbringing excitement to the children and strengthening the bond between ACC students and the SPED community.
For ACC teacher-education students, the experience served as hands-on exposure to the realities of teaching children with diverse needs, reinforcing their commitment to becoming compassionate and adaptable future educators.
Indeed, the Pamaskong Handog 2025 event concluded with group photos and distribution of certificates, marking the activity as both a celebration of the Christmas spirit and a step toward deeper community engagement in support of inclusive learning.
