ACC Relentless of Abuyog Community College marked a significant milestone as they concluded their first major competition appearance at Dance Dayo 2025, held on December 16, 2025, at the Saint Paul School of Professional Studies (SPSPS) Quadrangle, Palo Leyte.
Although the group did not secure a top-ranking finish, their participation stood as a meaningful achievement rooted in experience, resilience, and unity. For the dancers, joining a large-scale inter-school competition was less about medals and more about growth, representation, and learning from the broader dance community.
According to Jayrald Del Rosario, President of ACC Relentless, the journey to the stage was met with challenges that tested the groupโs dedication. Financial constraints affected attendance during rehearsals, while a typhoon temporarily disrupted their preparation. Despite these difficulties, the team remained committed and continued training with determination.
โThis was our first time joining a big event. Our goal was not just to compete but to gain experience, represent our school, and build friendships. My message to my team is to always remain humble and never forget the family we created,โ Del Rosario shared.
ACC Relentless began with limited resources, guided by a student choreographer, and supported by their advisers. Their preparation reflected teamwork, discipline, and perseverance as they worked to deliver a cohesive and confident performance on a major stage.
Ms. Julie Silvano, adviser of ACC Relentless, expressed pride in the group, emphasizing that success extends beyond competition results.
โWe really started from scratchโliterally from nothing. Our choreographer is a student guided by the advisers. I am very proud of my dancers. This experience is something money cannot buy, and it is a very good start. We still have much to learn, and we look forward to growing as a dance group,โ Silvano said.
During the event, energy filled the SPSPS Quadrangle as ACC Relentless performed in the Hiphop Category, showcasing striking movements, cohesive formations, and synchronized transitions that reflected confidence and collective effort.
In the same category, ACLC Tacloban College secured a back-to-back championship with their high-impact and crowd-driven performance. Eastern Visayas State UniversityโTanauan Campus placed second, highlighted by aerial stunts and upper-body strength, while Leyte National High School earned third place with an emotionally charged routine centered on mental anguish.
While rankings defined the competition results, ACC Relentlessโ participation represented a different kind of victoryโone rooted in courage, perseverance, and firsthand exposure to a competitive performance environment.
Abuyog Community College recognizes ACC Relentless for their dedication and honorable representation of the institution. Their first major appearance serves as an inspiration to the ACC community, reminding students that progress begins with taking the first step and learning from every experience on and off the stage.
