A new chapter begins for aspiring college students as Abuyog Community College (ACC) officially launched its Admission Week for the First Semester of Academic Year 2026โ2027 on April 6.

The three-day admission test period, scheduled from April 6 to 8, welcomed the first batch of applicants eager to secure their place in the institution. With clear guidelines set by the administration, applicants were reminded to follow their assigned schedules, present necessary documents, and comply with the step-by-step processโfrom pre-registration to interview and eventual enrollment.
However, the first day revealed a different reality. Despite strict reminders of a โno walk-inโ policy, a significant number of applicants still arrived without prior scheduling. This created a challenge for facilitators, as they balanced accommodating hopeful examinees while maintaining order in the process.
Personnel assisting during the process, including Ms. Alvie Orias, observed that only a small portion of examinees followed their assigned schedules. Despite this, the admissions team continued to accommodate applicants while guiding them through the required procedures.
The admission process includes several key steps: pre-registration, admission test, initial interview, and enrollment. Applicants are required to present their report cards before proceeding to the examination and interview stages, ensuring that qualifications are verified early in the process.
Meanwhile, assurance was given by ACC Guidance Office coordinator, Dr. Joel Comaling that enrollment will remain open until May, allowing more applicants to complete their requirements and apply within the extended period.
Among the many hopefuls was Marian Ignacio, a graduate of Dulag National High School, whose journey reflects both resilience and adaptability. Initially aiming for another university, she found her path redirected to ACC, encouraged by peers and driven by her passion for Hospitality Management.
โI chose Hospitality Management because I took the TVL track during my senior high school,โ Ignacio shared, expressing her interest in continuing a field aligned with her previous strand.
Due to the distance from her hometown, Ignacio also plans to stay in a boarding house to manage her daily commute. Despite the adjustments, she remains hopeful about her college experience. โI hope itโs bearable because itโs different from senior high school,โ she said, acknowledging the challenges ahead. Looking forward, Ignacio envisions herself as a successful graduate in four years and aims to venture into entrepreneurship in the future.
With enrollment extended until May and more testing batches expected, ACC also extends opportunities to students seeking accessible and quality educationโreminding everyone that every beginning, no matter how uncertain, holds the promise of growth.
