November 17, 2023- In a proactive move to ensure full compliance with CHED’s policies, standards, and guidelines, Abuyog Community College subjected its Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management programs to a comprehensive evaluation.

Present during the evaluation were the Education Supervisors II of CHEDRO VIII, namely, Emmanuel Antonio Lim (in charge of the Criminal Justice Education Programs) and Cydric B. Suyom (in charge of business-related programs).

Additionally, present during the said evaluation were the Municipal Mayor and Executive Chairman of BOT, Lemuel Gin K. Traya; College President, Clemelle L. Montallana; Executive Vice-President, Asuncion M. Villote; Vice-President for Administration and Finance, Sheila V. Posas; Vice President for Academic Affairs, Edita D. In his message, Sir Emmanuel Antonio Lim emphasized their focus on both non-compliant areas from previous visits and checking the sustainability of previously compliant areas.

“So, basically, based on the results of the previous visits, most of the areas for the BSHM and BS-Criminology are already compliant. Right now, Sir Cydric and I would like to look into those non-compliant areas from the previous visits, and, of course, we would like to check whether or not the previously compliant areas were sustained,” he said.

He also acknowledged the institution’s efforts and expressed a commitment to providing a fair evaluation of the programs.

“We will also do our best to provide a just and fair evaluation of these programs. We acknowledge that the institution is making its best efforts, and there have been noticeable adjustments that have been made, as reflected in your documents,” Lim added.

Furthermore, following a comprehensive evaluation, both Lim and Suyom recommended the two programs for the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC). The approval of these programs was pending the review by the Regional Director of CHEDRO 8, Dr. Maximo C. Aljibe, with the issuance of COPC to follow thereafter.
