Demonstrating academic excellence and competitive spirit, Abuyog Community College (ACC) made a remarkable mark as its teacher-education students secured spots among the Top 10 finalists in the Falculan Twins Review Center (FTRC) Battle of the Brains Season 3, held on April 11, 2026, in Tacloban City.

The ACC trio were Jonalyn Eman, a fourth-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) student; Erwin Belleza, a fourth-year Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) major in Social Studies student; and Rialyn Bisnar, a third-year BSED English student.
Competing against 62 of the regionโs top education students from 22 colleges and universities across Eastern Visayas, Eman and Belleza stood out as two of the highest scorers, successfully advancing to the Top 10 finalists.
Their performance reflected not only academic excellence but also resilience under pressure in a highly competitive environment.
Although only the Top 5 participants advanced to the next round, the achievement remains a significant milestone for ACC, affirming the institutionโs growing presence in regional academic competitions.
The quiz bee covered essential areas in Professional Education and General Education, aligned with the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT), highlighting the participantsโ depth of knowledge and readiness for the teaching profession.
In recognition of their efforts, all participating delegates were awarded a 100% tuition fee scholarship for the FTRC review programโan opportunity that further strengthens their preparation for the upcoming board examination.
Behind this success were coaches Prof. John Paul Adtoon and Prof. Joshua Arthur Posas, whose mentorship and guidance played a vital role in honing the studentsโ skills and boosting their confidence throughout the competition.
