Abuyog Community College (ACC) marked a proud and historic milestone on May 17 with the successful conduct of the Joint Graduation Ceremony of Basic and Advanced Air Force Reserve Officersโ€™ Training Corps (AFROTC) Class โ€œSinaglawin 2026โ€ at the ACC Grounds, recognizing 429 cadets who officially took their oath as newly enlisted reservists of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Reserve Corps.

The ceremony opened with the formal arrival of the guest of honor and speaker, setting a solemn and dignified tone that reflected the gravity of military service and national duty.

Furthermore, NSTP Coordinator Alwin John A. Matanda delivered the welcome remarks, extending gratitude to distinguished guests, officers of the Philippine Air Force, instructors, families, and graduates. He emphasized that the occasion marked not only the completion of training but the beginning of a greater responsibility in service to the nation.

The ceremony recognized key officials in attendance, including LTC Bruce A. Pakingking, Commanding Officer of the 5th Air Reserve Center; Major Magellan T. Tezon; and 1LT Windel G. Antonio, alongside training staff and reserve personnel who played vital roles in shaping the cadets.

Also present were TSgt Alvin V. Katigbak, Philippine Air Force, who served as Overall Non-Commissioned Officer-in-Charge of the 527th Department of Military Science and Tactics (DMST), Sgt Mary Jane A. Tisado, Graduate Military Assistant, and A1C Nino T. Inosante, Administrative Officer-in-Charge of the 527th Department of Air Science and Tactics.

A pivotal moment of the program was the reading of completion orders by TSgt Katigbak, formally recognizing the cadetsโ€™ successful completion of training requirements. This was followed by the presentation and declaration of graduates, as well as the turnover ceremony led by commanding officers of the 5th Air Reserve Center.

The highlight of the event was the Acceptance and Oath-Taking of Newly Enlisted Reservists, marking the official transition of cadets into active members of the Reserve Force of the Philippine Air Force, symbolizing their readiness to serve when duty calls.

Inspiration continued with the introduction and message of the keynote speaker, LTC Bruce A. Pakingking, who underscored the importance of leadership, discipline, and selfless service in shaping responsible citizen-soldiers.

The program concluded with the solemn singing of the Philippine Air Force Hymn, sealing the ceremony with pride and unity among graduates, officers, and guests.

A total of 23 advanced cadets and 406 MS2 cadets (Military Science 2โ€”intermediate ROTC trainees advancing to higher proficiency levels) successfully completed the program, totaling 429 graduates officially recognized as reservists.

The โ€œSinaglawin 2026โ€ ceremony stands as a powerful testament to discipline, perseverance, and patriotism; preparing cadets not only as graduates but as future leaders committed to national service.

As ACC continues to strengthen its ROTC program, this milestone reinforces its mission of forming responsible, service-driven citizens grounded in honor, duty, and excellence.

Congratulations to all graduating cadets of Class Sinaglawin 2026!
