The Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English second-year students showcased brilliance and creativity during the Technology for Teaching and Learning 2 (TTL2) Symposium and Culminating Activity held at the Abuyog Community College Business Incubation Facility (BIF) on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

The morning session featured a Symposium where participants actively engaged in discussions led by Mr. Rodel Cabuhoc, Master Teacher III of Justimbaste Remandaban National High School. Serving as the Resource Speaker, Cabuhoc shared valuable insights on the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Reading Program, emphasizing its background, scope, and purpose in addressing literacy challenges among Filipino learners.
The discussion became both an eye-opener and a source of inspiration for the aspiring English educators, encouraging them to become active contributors to literacy development and accessible learning initiatives.
In the afternoon, the spotlight shifted to the Culminating Activity titled โThe Next Teaching Star: A Teaching Demo Pageant,โ carrying the theme โInnovate, Integrate, Educate: Technology in Language Learning.โ

The competition featured outstanding groups from the TTL2 Microteaching activity, where contestants demonstrated confidence, creativity, and teaching excellence through engaging classroom simulations and technology-integrated instruction.
Among the participants were the pair of Ms. Jhanna Jacobe and Ms. Ramiyah Cabias from Section A, the pair of Mr. Gian Baldecosta and Ms. Jean Venus Regis, and the group composed of Ms. Jouana Jacobe, Ms. Merry Grace Chiong, and Mr. Jerick Bulilan from Section E.

Each contender displayed remarkable preparation and passion for teaching, reflecting the skills and competencies developed throughout the semester.
Simultaneously, an Educational Exhibit was conducted in the adjacent room, where three groups presented innovative instructional materials related to English Language Teaching. The exhibits featured teaching demonstration materials, dioramas, newsletters, and paintings, with selected presenters explaining the significance and application of their outputs before the judge.
The activity concluded with a Closing Ceremony and awarding of winners. The pair of Jacobe and Cabias secured first place in the Teaching Demo Pageant, followed by Baldecosta and Regis in second place, while the group of Jacobe, Chiong, and Bulilan earned third place.

Reflecting on the experience, participant Mr. Jerick Bulilan described the activity as an avenue for personal and professional growth.
โAfter the demonstration and after receiving the judgesโ feedback, I realized that I still have a long way to go. I also came to understand what it truly means to engage in the real practice of teaching,โ Bulilan shared.
Meanwhile, exhibit presenter Ms. Rialyn Bisnar emphasized the importance of collaboration and creativity gained through the activity.
โBeing one of the presenters during the exhibit made me realize the importance of creativity, teamwork, and the willingness to share knowledge with others,โ Bisnar shared in a post-event interview.
The success of the TTL2 Symposium and Culminating Activity stands as a testament to the growing influence of technology in education and the dedication of future educators to meaningful teaching and learning.
More than just an academic requirement, the event fostered innovation, collaboration, confidence, and excellence among English majors, empowering them to become transformative educators in the modern educational landscape.
